HUMAN MADE

Drawings, collages and objects in four different series, that deal with the relationship between mankind and nature are shown in the exhibition “HUMAN MADE” by the Swiss artists Markus and Reto Huber (both *1975).

The center point of the works is revolving around the dream of beauty and the endless strive for it. Through controlled breeding and manipulation human beings are trying to reach that goal.
“Survival of the fittest” is a 21 part series of charcoal drawings that show over-breed animals, i.e. breed chicken, gold fish or poodles.

Most of the drawings  show positur-canary birds. These birds are not breed based on their singing or color, but exclusively depending on their body posture.
