Biography

The Roman painter Piero Dorazio, born in 1927, leads the life of a citizen of the world. He began studying architecture in Rome, went to Paris in 1947 on a scholarship from the École des Beaux-Arts, and spent inspiring times in Berlin, New York, Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, where he worked for a time as a professor. Dorazio confronts all the great masters of modernism and decides to follow the path of Concrete Art.

Unlike his Informel colleagues with their spontaneous gestures, he creates strictly ordered compositions in which he explores the phenomena of light and color.

In addition to paintings and graphics, the artist also creates stained glass windows, mosaics and stage sets and writes art theoretical texts on modernism.
