SAME SAME but different

With the exhibition SAME SAME but different a new era has started for Galerie Isabelle Lesmeister. After weeks of renovation and much planning, the opening of the exhibition was supposed to be celebrated with a farewell party for Marianne Schönsteiner-Mehr, the former owner of the Kunstkabinett, the gallery space Galerie Isabelle Lesmeister has now moved in to – as well as an opening party for the new location at the same time. But much like everyone else in the art world, the plans for this event have been affected and  put on a temporary hold because of Covid-19.Instead, we chose to do a “silent opening” and simply opened our newly located gallery doors at Untere Bachgasse 7 in Regensburg, formerly the Kunstkabinett, on May 23rd 2020.
The gallery now welcomes you to see art on two entire open floors, with beautiful architectural elements, reaching back to medieval times. You will explore artworks by our trusted gallery artists we’ve been working with for a long time, as well as a new collection of artists we are honored to have taken over from the Kunstkabinett. This way, friends of both galleries will be able to explore new artworks and find their favorites that they’ve come to know and love over the years. Merging both collections together was a great opportunity for Galerie Isabelle Lesmeister to discover new contexts and dimensions of the artworks it now holds together in one place.
The exhibition is showing young and emerging artists from Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Mexico, and Germany, as well as prints by well established and widely known artists.
